These days most non technical people just have their phone and live inside the FB/IG/TT/X/Gmail/Google apps on their phones and don't even go on the web. And app developers are doing everything to keep them ins

I would love to use Nebula but it seems to lean quite politically in one direction (as I suspect from a Canadian platform) which seems like something I don't want to support with my dollars. At least on YouTube I can find a diverse ran

Same with voice to text translation. It's absolutely, utterly, worthless. I end up having to go and edit half the message. Apple can't even get basic things right

I always wonder about what do service providers do when the person who's data you've collected is a bad actor such as someone abusing the service, committing credit card fraud or running a bot network? They too can just submit a r

Again these studies don't take into account things like burning, air pollution, waterways pollution, nor trees per capita in India vs North America. If you've got enough trees per person to offset their carbon use, then it doesn&#

Yeah and my point is that these studies look at energy consumption they don’t take into account things like burning yard waste or plastic garbage into their co2 consumption which is often done daily to keep mosquitoes away and from laziness

I'm going to guess you've never spent much time outside the bubble of the first world. After living extensively overseas in Latin America & South-east Asia and seeing how its part of everyday life for most people in the rest o

It's not just about horsepower it's about battery life and thermals. Especially those of us living in a hot climate not typing on a space heater is a big deal

Whilst I agree with your sentiment wait until you try a gently used M1 Macbook Air one day. After a tawdry love affair you'll want to toss the hot noisy intel machines in the garbage .. at least I did, anyway

Or you could pay the 12 euros a month for YT premium to turn off ads if this is something that upsets you so much? I just don't really understand the entitlement

It's 2045, the Sino-AI war has devastated the climate and huge dust clouds cover the earth. Human-AI hybrids are forming a new government. A new deadlier virus engineered in a lab is set to wipe out humanity. People are still adding &q

I'd hazard a guess it's because of people disagreeing with your analogy. Even though it's cute, tinder boosts and advertising are generally not considered to be the same product or use case

Yeah this is what i've done, I ended up turning it into a dumb TV and hooked an Apple TV up to it to solve all the problems including the crappy remote. On my Samsung, I didn't have to do that as its more than good enough already.

Yeah my Sony tv from about that same year is the worst TV i've ever owned by far. Theres crazy bugs like when you leave a show or youtube paused it will just randomly start playing again after 10 minutes. The UI is very slow and unresp
