Asia/Pacific should be split up more. One vote category that covers 60% of the world's population and 30% of Earth's land area is not very specific. Australia has 22 million people and Canada has 35 million, while Asia (Oceania not included

I'm a professional web designer. I spend 95% of my working time typing in Vim and refreshing Chrome. =) Wacom tablets are generally for illustrators, not web designers. Freehand drawings do not map well to the rectangular web.

If you're going to A/B test something, you need to reduce the variables down to one. For all you know, the supposedly 'pretty' framing and box-shadow you added to the grid layout may actually be what's causing customers to prefer the flat l

Touchscreen issues notwithstanding, hover effects like this are awful for usability. The hover overlay completely obscures the original image, making it impossible to read the snippet and enjoy the image at the same time. The animation effe

The title is a bit disingenuous. Before clicking through, I was wondering how he managed to maintain his productivity level with a touchscreen keyboard. I'm disappointed he's using external hardware, because otherwise I'd love to try a sim

Hey Andrey, it's pretty awesome that you support Stylus. Do you think you can make this work with VM-based development? I'm working in VirtualBox Ubuntu but viewing my site locally in Chrome (OS X).

Have you tried using UK and US-based VPNs to get through to the region-locked content? I've spent a couple months in China with a California-based VPS, and I'm able to SSH tunnel to watch everything I want on Hulu.

If i18n is a priority on your project, make sure you show your designer(s) this article. With the current trending emphasis on grids and horizontal rhythm, left-aligned labels are quite fashionable. An effective bandaid solution is to set l

There's not enough emphasis put the fact that designing for one aspect ratio/resolution is much easier on the designer. Not having to debug scaling issues or 1-2px vertical borders saves metric boatloads of development time. There are two m

A decent, introductory write-up about white space. It's a bit difficult to take seriously since the design of the blog doesn't use whitespace effectively. Of course, "The shoemaker's children are often shoeless", and all that. Irrelevant as

A higher listing fee results in less inbox spam and--in general--higher quality clients. A win-win.

Simple solution: don't use the words 'sewer' or 'reused' anywhere near the promotional materials for this product. Call it 'filtered water' or some other safe euphemism.

Unless the Macbook Air screens have changed, they're far worse than Macbook Pro screens for displaying color. I've used a 13" MBP and a 13" MBA and it's easy totell the difference. You can go to a store and see for yourself: the colors on t
