Being able to see the aggregate data isn't just interesting but publicly helpful. From a game developer perspective, looking at it right now tells me that (simplified): * Most gamers have at least a GTX 1050 and 8GB of ram or higher. P

I know this is the popular conclusion - but from a developer perspective, data such as what software your product is used with is INCREDIBLY valuable for project planning and prioritization. People hate web tracking, but knowing what browse

Software side you're right, it makes sense for the driver to keep track of the current application for things like button binds, etc. But that doesn't mean they need to transmit that information off your computer. Although I agree

Tracking the currently open application software side is perfectly within scope for a drawing tablet - they often have buttons that can be bound to keyboard shortcuts, etc. It makes sense that it should know when you're focused on Phot

I feel that it's not really fair to expect them to natively implement their app on every platform and put tons of resources into it's client performance - anecdotally discord is a very responsive app - see [0]. But think of it thi

To be fair it really doesn't take that long, and often it's because it's auto updating, but it's not more then a couple seconds. The big thing IMO is that once started I normally leave discord running, and most actions w

I made a comment to a sibling with an example from Michigan. I won't copy paste the whole comment but Michigan allows biking on sidewalks but you have to yield to pedestrians. But individual towns may add their own restrictions. https

Not always though, for example here in Michigan [0]. At least around here some of the streets are NOT the kind you want to ride your bike on, and there's only a few pedestrians on the sidewalk (so it's not a big deal even if you s

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure Intel has contracts/discounts for most OEMs and I'm sure they've written them in a way to 'discourage' them from throwing Ryzen CPUs in the mix.

You know that got me thinking, biking rules vary far more than for cars. Depending on your location, pedestrian traffic, streets, street traffic, etc. It might be best for you to be on the sidewalk. Or maybe you should instead be on the roa

That's definitely true, but even outside the US, that's not much money. Keep in mind they're counting revenue, and employees are more expensive than their salary (Even if your salary is 50k you can still cost 70k or more).
