My understanding is that they record encrypted traffic too. They can't read any of it - yet. But they're betting one day either a security vulnerability will be discovered, or computers will be fast enough to attack the encryption

Thanks for the warning, are there any good tools that integrate with pull request checks that can be self hosted? We self host nearly everything at work except for github. (And it's VERY difficult for me to get anything that costs mone

I don't personally use Rust (yet) but I love seeing its progress! Congrats to everyone who has been contributing to Rust, it's definitely moving the language forward!

Redirecting to https is still problematic though. Let's say your websites homepage only uses http but the login form is over https. You can MiTM the homepage, and change the login link to haX0r.xyz and then proxy the login.

This. I worked at a small cell phone repair store. We could replace lots of parts in say an iPhone 7, but nearly no soldering. Parts are relatively cheap (lcd might be 35$ for the 7 when I was there) - and we were only paid up to 12/14

This is one of the reasons I love docker, for personal use it makes experimenting with new projects soooo easy. Plus I have a simple traefik + compose setup so I can easily have it all automatically routed with a subdomain and https. I migh

Given that it's potentially profitable and works, who cares if it's done in a widespread way? That fact that it easily could is the problem IMO.

Counter point, why should '/' be invalid? I'm not saying it's good practice or that the compiler shouldn't warn you, but "/home/me/path_to_thing/file" is a perfectly valid path.

Also checkout Node Red [0], it's fairly popular in the automation space. It's rather sparse by default, but after adding in some community nodes (or making some yourself) it's pretty useful. https://nodered.org

On the flip side I feel like nginx has too high of a profile. It'd be better to target some other low level system package or npm/pip module, etc.

I've noticed this with other stories, it feels more like we clicked the link when it wasn't updated to the latest news, somehow taking us to a stale page. It doesn't feel like censorship from what I've experienced, more

It could have the opposite affect too though, since google ads are essentially a bidding war, so if you have lots of money you could theoretically just out bid all your opponents (then it's down to who has more money).

I think the problem is that because of the size of each torrent, and there's 1000 of them, it's difficult to effectively seed all at once, so instead people would rather seed sections at once, and rotate through them. I'm not

From what I've heard a good chunk of people rotate their seeds for LibGen because their seedboxes can't handle all the connections for every torrent at once.

Sure libre _might be better_ in that regard. But 99% of business sheets are done in excel, and work in excel. If they don't work in libre then that's an automatic no-go for most managers/whoever makes that decision.

Last time I checked, motherboard's for thread ripper cpus were around 200~300$, is that still the case? The motherboard cost really erases the budget for entry, as that's the price of a decent ryzen cpu.
