We were using Skype for Business before and Teams was a big improvement over that. It does video conferencing and file sharing well, with even collaborative editing of Office files working well. The chat features seem like an afterthought s

If we didn't have the other vaccines, getting 47% efficiency for a billion euros would have been an awesome result. We could have also stopped the pandemic with a 47% effective vaccine. We're just spoiled because the vaccine devel

Active investing and activist investors are not the same thing. And passive fund managers do vote their shares as has happened here. There's nothing stopping them from proposing board names as well.

It's really odd that it takes "activist" investors just to elect some board members. It seems shareholders should have a much easier time just proposing a few names to the board and have everyone vote on them. It's so

I was unclear, sorry. I meant the reason the whole thing as it happened was IRC drama, not the specific point about not using the data. I agree that specifically most likely happened because a group of volunteers don't want to expose t

I'd say that if you control both the DNS and own the network data (chanserv/nickserv/etc) you own the network. You can at any point stand up an entirely different infrastructure, staffed by entirely different people, switch o

As far as I can tell "freenode" is a fairly blurry mix of: The brand, including the DNS: that was passed on between people and then sold within the Freenode Limited company. If you have this you can point the blog and the network
