If you looking for a niche feed, you might want to check out a general purpose feed generator rss-proxy [0]. It even supports JavaScript rendered pages. [1] https://github.com/damoeb/rss-proxy

I think it works fine, it makes a website of choice accessible for your Reader. Since it just maps HTML -> RSS the entry description can be sparse, but then your reader should grab the fulltext of the referenced site. There is basic Java

I wonder what part of twitter you would like to replace/keep. I think you can learn a lot from them. I love their subsciption mechanism and the easy engagement. The absence of preassure for producing elaborate content (like in blogs) i

OT: Just checked their privacy statement in which they say "NO TRACKING (EXCEPT GOOGLE ANALYTICS, AND INTERNAL TRACKING)". That is quite a cheeky statement.

I love that people still build beautiful things on top of RSS. The author writes "I supplement this with content-based filtering, which involves analyzing the text of each essay". How is this implemented? Will he harvest the site

I agree. An RSS-based social network is a network that you fully own. Unfortunately the subscription experience lacks of some aspects, e.g. engagement with other users/author is much harder. We should implement some tools to overcome t

That's my main criticism for all this and similar projects. I think we as rss entousiasts should invest our time in a better way than patching rules against a running target. Who knows if those big sites break their markup intentionall

Cool project! I wonder if your price points are randomly picked or if 100 is the sweet spot, which would be odd. Do you plan to add some text-to-speech magic, so one can search for the actual podcast content? That would be a killer feature
