The limit to what we store while you're not connected.- i.e, if you're on a trip for a weekend and you come back, you get all of your messages fed back to your client the next time you log in. This clears your limit back to 0, effectively.

Nope - Vagrant is a tool for managing VM providers. Virtualbox has been the main provider it manages. Part of this announcement includes adding support for more providers!

It's mimicking a browser UI designed to help people feel "safe" and know they're using a website with SSL. It's probably not with malicious intent in this case, but I'd say that's not good practice.
