This happens constantly, the entire tech industry runs in whatever direction Google in particular is going. First it was Hadoop and all the pain that came with that, and now it's microservices and kubernetes and all the shit that bring

YouTube and Google and their attitude is the problem. And that we don't have many popular alternatives. Our tech overlords are the equivalent of Kings now, above the law. And their attitude to humanity stinks.

You said to use it for development. But I don't use Artifactory so maybe you meant to use the latest for production also, if it passes the build.

We should all switch over to Putins way of viewing the world. Pretty much the same ideology that 3 year old children has. Works for them right?

I've also seen the same. As soon as people start locking versions, that code is no longer updated and nobody will change it, because it's extra work to do so. I personally think running latest is the best thing to do. And if somet

So what actually always happens with this approach is that companies stay on ancient docker images, because there is never time for updates as long as they work. It's the same with locking python pip packages to specific versions. Nobo

If you search on "horse dewormer", you should be able to find lots of mainstream articles ridiculing it, and also Joe Rogan was made fun of a lot for using it instead of vaccines. If you can't find it on Google, maybe you nee

I'm certified architect in both AWS and GCP and I prefer AWS. But it's possible it's because I learned it first. GCP is easier to start with for me, but becomes annoying because it's missing things that I can do in aws.
