I'm pretty content with FLStudio (with various VST plugins) and Sound Forge, and Audacity when I need to work with something in a weird format. Sometimes the plugins can get crashy but I just bounce to WAV and unload the offending plug

FLStudio lets you save a new incremental version with CTRL+N, I use that as a sort of version control so I can roll back to an older version of an ideas if needed. Doesn't provide any equivalent of merging with head or branching or any

To be honest, I really like existing tools and workflows and I don't really want that to change. > Open a DAW from the year 2000 and it’s highly likely you’ll recognise the vast majority of the features — both functionally and visua

Maybe but I don't do critical listening on club systems unless I'm checking my own mixdowns. Unless the DJ is redlining (which they shouldn't be if they're competent) the audio should come out of the mixer relatively unm

They have the same problem as nearly every other digital music store that isn't beatport.... and that is that they aren't beatport (or rather, they don't have beatport's catalog)

I'm pretty sure the 16-vs-24 thing has been proven already. 24-bit only really makes sense if you're fucking with the material. Same with 44.1khz vs higher sample rates.

I'm a DJ on mid-range monitoring hardware and I can definitely hear the difference with apple's encodes vs FLAC, at least on their older encodes. I am not 100% sure its the compression protocol (could be differences in mastering s

I don't know the mechanics, my guess is they translate the MIDI notes to the scale given to them by a tuning file Here's a pretty comprehensive-looking list of software instruments supporting microtuning: https://en.xen

I found MDMA similarly eye-opening, dealing with depression and anxiety. It was the first time I truly felt free of anxiety, like it just vanished and I could feel somewhat normal. This was many many years ago, and since then I use these ex
