Those are good criteria for filtering out the obvious negatives and using all of them together helps in weeding out some of the false positives of each criterion. Thanks.

Thanks, having a similar value system to yours is indeed important. Larger cities obviously have an advantage in this respect. I guess even in small towns, it is one way to filter.

Give it a go. Actually doing it and learning from your failure or success is much better than endless analysis of niches. Just make sure to have definite goals to make sure you are making progress along the way. If you miss goals continuous

Partially related: Third party analyses of failures. [1] and [2] analyze Webvan's failure 14 years back. It is fascinating to read it now and see how much of it they got right (and see how much was wrong, with the benefit of hindsight)
