Good article, appreciated the charts, though the commentary on them seemed a bit selective. I was disappointed though that the case wasn't made for the actual cause of the recent unamendability (since 1971, as they say). Why did opposi

I also hated that. But I read the article anyway and thought it was informative. Probably I should just read the book it was reviewing, though.

The "initial frame -> video" problem seems way harder than generating video from a text input. Once a good dataset for that problem is assembled, it seems like Stable Diffusion would naturally accept an additional "time&qu

I think they did envisage it---thus the urgency at developing their own content. Hard to compete right away with a century of Disney content etc. But, give it a few decades, and things might look better in hindsight.

You may be right that "unconditional surrender" and occupation are prerequisites for the sort of transformation that Germany and Japan underwent. But the collapse of empire as experienced by Russia vis-a-vis the Soviet Union and W

Interesting. I had in mind a symbolic algebra solver. More like Maxima's `solve` and similar. But maybe a numeric solver could serve a similar purpose? Probably not, since the existence of a numerical solution does not imply that the e

Perhaps there are some who will never learn to love themselves but in general I think it can be learned. I don't think there actually is a hard and fast rule that people struggling to love themselves shouldn't seek relationships.
