Don't forget to update your docker containers and restart them.

You could load the data into a database and run queries, sorts against that. postgres has a COPY INTO command that supports csv inputs, which can greatly reduce insert time.

if you have a different angle on querying your data that the current solutions don't solve then you should definitely give it a shot. You should try to limit what you build though. Can you utilize leveldb, Riak, Cassandra, Redis or ev

Maybe you could use a usb device that is physically attached to the chair, then a thin usb ribbon cable that plugs into the computer, but pulls out quickly. that way if the computer is taken it would auto lock the machine when the ribbon i

We have been using backlift as a teaching aid for an intro to programming class at the Nashville Software School. It has been a great way to allow the students to deploy code and test api's without the normal burdens of server setup or s

Is a patent like this likely to get accepted? I thought algorithm patents were hard to get now.

Sounds like a nice place for a data center. cold with plenty of cheap natural gas to power it.

Does it fail for an individual user or is it all users at that time period. instead of reducing the number of followers, you may just need to wait 5 - 10 minutes and ask for that user again with full 100.

If one of your requests for followers fails at 100, does it fail for a different user as well? Instead of backing down on a user you could try delaying it for a time period and switch to another user. also keeping track of when the failu

I just noticed that it doesn't have a GigE port. that is just switching an hdmi adapter for a GigE - thunderbolt cable. it was probably necessary to get the form factor, but it is annoying.

Hopefully the macbook pro with retina display supports 16gb of ram. Everything else sounds amazing, but being limited to 8gb of ram for another few years is going to hold me back.

best I found in the US is reliablesite.net http://reliablesite.net/v4/ their twitter account has big discounts maybe only 4x more expensive, and they don't charge a monthly fee for a private network.

That is pretty good. although being sold out and 1 - 2 weeks before they come on line make it a tougher sell. excellent point about the $150 fee. the ram and disk seem very cheap. I haven't seen raid-1 3TB and 16Gb ram in the states for

It would be really cool if redis supported the ability to count the high bits in a string as a native command. No need to pull a 16k string down to client Although it is another command in a growing list of them. maybe something for lua.

There are guides at http://www.ifixit.com/ You can look through the steps it would take to see if your comfortable doing it yourself. I have done many repairs on my MBP and they were pretty easy. just required patience.

I like the idea. Having the data be encrypted would be cool too. A time-to-live would be nice so that it doesn't grow forever. Although it sounds like an easy place for virus writers to store plans of attack. And hard to take down with
