Are they really a long time enemy? They were a core ally in the 40s. We operate a space station together. Did they really “attack” us by purchasing a few ads supporting the candidate most of us (outside California) voted for? It’s an extrem

How could you possibly ever accuse a website of being “used for ethnic cleansing”?

I still think it’s the critics who don’t get it. The technology was always going to obviously move in this direction. The critics confoundingly both complain about the power of tech behemoths AND that they should be arbiting freedom on thei

You should go read up on branding. On the financial side, yes, there's a tremendous opportunity to be hugely profitable. In 8 years, WeWork is now bigger than IWG after 30 years. Where do you think think the upside lies?

Regus has taken 30 years to become much smaller than WeWork.

Nope. WeWork is clearly the "go to" brand in the flexible office leasing category. Regus' brand is "has been".

The numbers can definitely work out. Properties are margin positive on 50-80% occupancy. We Work dominates the flexible office leasing category in many huge important markets around the world.

No true. WeWork's business has already moved very firmly into stabler, longer lived tenants.

What would buying Regus get you besides a slow growth, lousy brand?

WeWork dominates the flexible office leasing business any many large and important markets around the world. It would be difficult and perhaps impossible to replicate what WeWork has achieved. And since it can make money at 50-80% occupancy

"Mature locations" are cash flow positive. But lots of $$ being invested into expansion. SaaS economics are much easier since marginal costs are $0. WeWork has to commit to very large lease expenses and then find tenants to move i

But PE is obviously the wrong metric for Amazon since we know it reinvests all its earnings and has proven ability to convert investment into cash flow.

We have a small office for up to 12 people in Atlanta and it's great. Super easy to work with, spaces are top notch, you get larger office amenities without a large office. I can easily see this growing massively in future for distribu

I guess I was referring to earlier Meteor where it used its own package manager (Atmosphere?) and front-end/templating (Blaze?) solutions. And actually that MySQL/Postgres might have been preferable to Mongo.

Anyone use meteor? Seems like it got steamrolled by npm, react, mongo. Going your own way on each component doesn’t seem like the best strategy.

The friction eliminated and expanded flexibility from normal office leasing was quite pronounced. Add to that a huge block of delighted customers. Not sure how you are defining innovation but there is clearly a lot going on there.

Wut? WeWork's revenues already cover its rent costs even at just 70% occupancy. I still don't see this "cheating" you speak of.
