I remember actually going to my local library and finding some detailed technical books (in my case DOS Interrupts I think), and reading a lot to find out WTF was going on.

1) Other than turning it on and allowing tracking, not much. There's a way to annotate the active project (e.g. pick from a drop-down of recent projects). Although after enough data is collected it's able to infer these without ma

Integrating to various invoicing platforms is certainly on the radar. Harvest, Freshbooks, and Quickbooks are definitely at the top of the list. We'll start with a CSV export that will work with these platforms, then further down the l

AI/ML and Crypto are sort of generally applicable to many startups, hence you see them more. For databases, there are quite a few columnar database startups. A bunch of these topics are basically only relevant at large scale since they

No real plan. I'd prefer someone passionate about the subject over someone available right now. So I'm keeping my ears open if the right person comes along. For now, I think it's more important to focus on making a great prod

Feel free to provide your email on the site! (if you haven't already) Do you have any questions or concerns? Any feedback is definitely helpful for shaping the product.

I think in addition to a win/loss/draw judgement, it would be good to require a comment (and hence username) for each application. That would at the least give a way to trace if the Elo ratings are being gamed or users are biased.

I agree. That's why I'm not really thinking about the invoicing angle like some of the other tracking apps seem to do. Making accurate project estimates (and measuring current progress) is at least as important and relevant to a l

Will there be a new toplink for "Apply HN" submissions? I think random sorting on that page would be a good idea to encourage all submissions get an opportunity for discussion.

I'd argue optionals are just a variation of Go's interfaces (e.g. io.Reader versus io.ReadCloser)... and enums are basically typed constants in Go (you just don't see the name "enum" anywhere).

+1 for Dwolla suggestion. I use it for client payments, although the customer UX is not as clean as stripe/square here for web applications.

I see "Subscription APIs" in the e-commerce section of the marketing page, but can't find any mention of it skimming through the developer docs. Anyone have experience doing subscriptions/recurring charges with this?

You definitely need some screenshots at least on mobile. I skimmed the page and left cause I didn't see anything. Glad I read the comments to see why it was upvoted, now I at least know to check it out later on my main machine. If this

Is this more common in the social sciences? I've never had a reviewer quote nearly as bad as these (computational biology). There are plenty of bad / lazy reviewers, but I would think the editor should be filtering stuff like this

An interesting concept, I bet it could be applied to traffic prediction as well. If an article is posted linking to your site, you could expect a spike of incoming clicks that gradually trails off in a similar way.

I'm in basically the same boat, microservices in multiple repos that I've waffled on merging into a single repo. Each time the lack of history preservation was a big non-starter. It would be nice to be able to place the sub-repos

Very interesting. It almost reads like it's oriented to first-time businesses, but makes almost no mention that a Delaware company is probably overkill for most people starting out.
