Is anyone really suggesting going back to the days of blocking on sniffed UA? I don't think so. When people say "not supporting IE6" I think they mean no longer doing browser specific bug fixing - that's what I mean. Provided the majority o

My monitor is broken and will only cope with "low pixel" modes so I'm using it from the console (on another comp). I've been using links2 for a couple of weeks now - it's amazingly good for a text browser, a few annoyances (no tabs, have to

Curious as to your answer: why is it sad? Surely if the kids speak fluent Spanish instead of Welsh then they can now (in their first language) communicate with far more people in the world. That's got to be better for cultural exchange, soc

It's catching on, the gov spend millions on it. There's a lot of anti-English [people] sentiment which feeds into not speaking English (just because of the name of the language rolls-eyes ). Gov jobs require it, despite not needing it. Mid

Here in Wales schoolchildren are forced to learn a minority language in school. Welsh Language is given a very prominent position - it's only spoken in Wales (and bizarrely in a small area in Patagonia). I'd sooner have my kids learn a lang

I always got non-first language words confused. What interested me was when I was relearning French and learning German (to read patent docs) after having learnt sign-language (as my 4th studied language) I could think of words in sign when

Quoting 5 sig figs is silly - those components aren't made in the US and so the price had changed by the time they wrote it down. Round to nearest $10 USD.

If he otherwise would have used the time to smoke dope and watch TV then arguably that tranche of time had 0 financial value associated with it. This assumes that he's equally recuperated by coding and so the coding doesn't impact the hours

Brown rice gives me severe abdominal cramps - YMMV. Rice is good for bulk and brown rice gives more fibre but whilst it's a staple for many it's not great nutritionally.
