“Knockoffs” can be of many different types: - Coming from the same factory line with the same quality control, just rebranded (Costco famously does this a lot) - Factory seconds, goods with very minor defects (sometimes not even in the prod

I was considering getting an AI Max+ machine last year when the price was around $2K. Crazy to see the same specs now going for double the price.

The issue with copyright law is that it is all or nothing. Rights to a work are either tightly held by an author/publisher, and even downloading a small excerpt can get you in trouble, or it is fully public domain and open for any and

> AI is keeping engineers at their desks longer, not freeing them up. Random rewards, dopamine hits, and no natural stopping points create a loop comparable to casino gambling. > The fix is deliberate habits, not restricted tools. Tim

Meta is in a weird place because Zuck is at this point very far removed from day to day company operations and its overall culture, but still wants to be the one calling all the shots. Plus just like Musk and others he has megalomania and w

Online video sharing doesn't have to exclusively mean professional "creators" who make content with hollywood-like budgets and expect massive returns. There are 100+ million accounts regularly uploading on Youtube and only ar

They can't shut down the service because there is no single service. They can go after individual servers, and that is fine. The admin is responsible for what happens on their server.

So they nerfed Mythos down to Fable and then nerfed Fable down to Opus 4.8. I assume most people here are using it for coding and other technical tasks, and so are silently getting redirected to Opus.

It wasn't up to the Supreme Court to correct. It is very plainly written in the constitution. Sure you can disagree, but it is up to elected representatives in Congress to amend, not Trump or the Supreme Court.

The most obvious read of the constitution in the world still being a 6-3 verdict shows the state of the Supreme Court today.
