"Frameworks and tools" is a very broad category. Check out React, Angular and Vue if you're looking beyond design/CSS.

They don't mention if they are counting software vendors in this list as well. If so, it's pretty easy to hit that number. An employee wants a license for a drawing app? That company is now a "supplier".

Those numbers are going to be very different for different people depending on their situation, especially if they live in a dense metropolitan area. When I owned a car parking costs alone justified a move to Uber/Lyft. I now use commu

Netflix does this already, both via direct dedicated lines from their CDN to ISPs and content boxes in ISPs' own data centers. I don't think it can be considered a net neutrality violation since the concept of "neutrality&quo

Big companies will be quick to cut deals with ISPs to prioritize their traffic. It's the startups and new products which can't afford to pay that will suffer.

Adblock Plus sold out a long time ago by taking money from big players to let their ads through. I've been using uBlock Origin for a while and haven't looked back. Plus it's way faster and less buggy.

It's not like physical movie sales are doing too well themselves. And by the time a sequel is released a physical copy of the original would have been out for a while, meaning it will already be severely discounted online and in bargai

It doesn't matter if a company isn't making a profit. It still has assets - whether physical, intellectual, goodwill, brand, or anything else. If you own stocks in a company you literally own a part of all of these.

Coinbase is the surprising one to me, since it is the only one on the list that operates at the application rather than network level. And there's no mention of bitcoin theft anywhere in the report, just DDOS.

There are lots of other ways used as well. Client-side JavaScript that tracks mouse movement, for example. A combination of all of these combined with ML models give surprisingly accurate results.

It is the board's job to appoint the CEO. There are subcommittees formed to do this, which the existing CEO usually stays away from, because in almost all cases there is a reason the CEO is stepping away/being made to step away in

There are better ways to manage employee equity, and lots of even the smallest startups do so. E.g. switch to RSUs as early as possible, and have "double-trigger" vesting so taxes are only owed when the shares have a real dollar v

I usually like Ben Thompson's writing, but this article felt so off to me. The basic premise - that enforcing net neutrality will be a trade-off or "burden" on par with onerous safety regulations - is completely flawed. ISPs

Sure, but you can say the same about every YouTube channel, and every other enterprise ever. The highlight is that the 6-year-old is the face and "brand" of the operation.
