Only time can tell, but given how Trump has treated expert groups before it is highly uncertain of any of them will be able to influence his policies.

10 minutes and 2-3 tabs on thingiverse.com can easily bring my firefox to its knees. I think its a combination of badly written code, webgl and maybe even adblocker breaking some otherwise mostly working code.

The amount of talent is not unlimited, and not everyone want to move to Cupertino and work for Apple. Also, as Frederick Brooks have taught us, you cannot just introduce new people into a team.

So this company has a team that stalks unfriendly journalists to find some dirt on them, and thats okay but if they don't contribute to Celery they have really crossed the line?

X220 has a 12" 1366x768 display which may sound awful but I have noticed that it is perfectly adequate for someone who spends most his time in emacs and tmux. I actually do have a 1920x1080 and a QHD laptop, which I barely touch becaus

Same here, go feels "fun" for some reason. Maybe its the well-thought standard library, maybe its the way the compiler helps you. Maybe its because we can actually catch bugs at compile time instead of those runtime errors and sil

In the same thread, there are some great responses to that comment. Also, it seems some people are really scared of changes and would do anything to keep the status quo.

Out of curiosity, why would you need 64GB on a development machine? Sure you can spin a few vms but your CPU will probably become a bottleneck long before you reach the 64gb limit.

I think their X1 series is the only one not gone downhill. The X2nn series stopped being awesome somewhere between the X220 and X230. The newer ones are dropping to Acer ergonomic and quality levels...

When my MBP got stolen I bought a refurbished Thinkpad X220, which I still use as my daily driver. I got the idea from the Linux Voice magazine in UK (highly recommended!) where many of the developers they interviewed used ancient Thinkpad

Consider also refurbished thinkpads. Not always the fastest machines or the best battery life but for the tiny amount of $$ you pay you will get a surprisingly good development machine.

I disagree. When you just start your project you may use github as your CDN and hope no one notices, but when you are as big as homebrew using someones elses resources like this is a pretty bad practice.
