I think Ubuntu (and almost all other Linux distros) suffer from the same problem: there is no real security coordination during development. Compare that to OpenBSD which very rarely needs to do emergency security updates. With that said, C

The first iteration was not very impressive, but has since steadily improved. If I had to choose between Android+Fuchsia and Tizen+Linux I might as well give Tizen a try. I am very impressed by their new watch, which IIRC runs Tizen.

You grossly overestimate Googles ability to support an OS on multiple platforms. Do you remember the why Samsung Galaxy Nexus was abandoned? Apple supports iOS on two platforms (32-bit and 64-bit A-series). Microsoft who has been in the OS

Because the PC is an open platform, people can modify it in all kind of ways. A patch can for example fail if the user has for one reason or another removed or disabled a system component that is needed to validate or processes that patch.

Beside the old generation from the former eastern block (who studied Russian instead of English) pretty much everyone speaks enough English to communicate. I've traveled to EU a lot and even in a country like France I had zero problems

I think most people buy their stuff from amazon.co.uk or if they happen to be in Germany then maybe also amazon.de The store segmentation is created by amazon themselves and doesn't really make sense.

No idea, but I don't think the FOSS tools would support them at this stage anyway. They also support Xilinx Spartan 6 which looks like what this board uses.

Chrome 87 will add the ability to control your hearth implant from the web. Because it then can order new batteries when you are browsing on amazon, and lets be honest what could possibly go wrong? Now don't worry, it will be opt out.

Ubuntu comes with AppArmor enabled by default [1]. Unfortunately its service will terminate at startup due to missing profiles [2]. This shows how much QA goes into security related stuff in a distro of this size. --- [1] https:/

Yes, but is there any kind of vetting process in any of the major distros? Does any distro (outside OpenBSD) have a continuous process of re-evaluating included packages?

This issue highlights another common problem on FOSS: If I create a small utility "just for fun" and someone includes it in a major distro and then nobody (including myself) touches it for 10 years, who is to blame if there are se
