looks like they're just multiplying two 100x100 matrices, once? (maybe I'm reading it wrong?) in Julia, runtime would be dominated by compilation + startup time. A fair comparison with C++ would be to at least include the compil

Bazel is buggy?! Bazel is not a clone, it's the refactoring of the internal build system, basically. I am 99% certain that Blaze currently has Bazel at the core. And it's pretty damn robust.

That carbon emitted is largely from the manufacturing of cheap products that you consumed. Western countries have offshored both manufacturing and the associated pollution to a country more concerned about pulling its people out of poverty

Pet peeve: company market cap cannot and should not be compared to GDP of a country. The best comparable is the "Gross Value Added" GVA = delta in EBITDA + employee compensation, as outlined here by Matt Klein in FT Alphaville: h
