As a mathematician turned to deep learning, I would say you overstimate the promises of deep learning a bit :-)

In fact the result has little to do with computer science - it is purely a mathematical result. The way points are sampled (uniform distribution) is clarified in the text

The obvious question is actually the converse: assume all even moments of the distance are integers - does it follow that S^(n-1) is a group (hence n=1, 2 or 4)?

As it turns out, you can have a powerful macro system without s-expr syntax (e.g. Scala, Nim). In any case, you jus need to write functions that operate over trees, which you can do in any language. That this tree is not immediately reflect

Well, it's the other way round. In Italy supermarkets evolved to contain bakeries, because otherwise people would not buy supermarket bread. Nowadays you can find pretty good bread at the supermarket, but it is all fresh

Also, mathematicians! I don't have precise statistics, but anectodally when I was in my (under)graduate years it seemed like every mathematician was dating another one, unlike what I saw happen in other faculties

It makes sense to let client code handle allocations and whatnot. What I cannot find is how to pass one or more tensors (given, I suppose, by some shape parameters and a pointer to the data buffer) to Tensor Comprehensions. I would have exp

I could not find how to integrate this into a C++ program. Does it need ATen or is there a lower level of integration? Is there even the possibility of getting C bindings?

I find it weird that the metaphor here is that smart devices will become as ubiquituous as electric peelers, which I have never seen in my life :-? I still peel my fruit by hand - if that - and I have never seen anyone do otherwise

An exercise that I made during my degree and phd years in maths was to always take notes in a consistent notation across the various lectures, regardless of the convention used by the teacher. It forced me to pay attention and as a bonus I

I don't understand your comment - do you mean that every story has to be related to America in some way? (by which I guess you mean the United States of America, by the way, which is one of many countries inside the two America contine

Usually it is because as soon as the build gets a little complex, you need to define your own logic. In a minute, you are scripting your build tool with a Turing complete language. And of course users of language X want to script their bui

It is a thing, and here where I live (Italy) is pretty popular - I would say more than Uber, for what it's worth. It is a service to arrange long trips from one city to another with other people, so that the driver can share the ride

The remark is that the two words, while apparently interchangeable, in actual use are not. One is often used with positive meaning related to dexterity and so on. Also, they have different political meanings. So they are not at all symmetri

My comment was a little tongue in cheek, but it seems I was not able to convey this. Anyway, roman numerals do just fine to number centuries, which are rarely used to do computations. My point is that it all amounts to familiarity, and whil

Absolutely common in Italy as well. If someone doesn't like this convention... well, this is more or less what we think when we meet articles measuring weight in pounds or height in feet ;-)

1) Last time I tried it was reasonably fast for a dynamic language - somewhat slower than javascript (V8) but faster than python (cpython) to give you a ballpark 2) Yes, but ou will not use native widgets. The way you write applications is:
