Production teams at great companies seems to assume this is a Phd in something applied. Theorical Phds exists as well (e.g. pure maths)

I have been doing mathematics up until a couple of postdocs - and based on first hand experience I think that the story of young mathematicians is mostly a myth. Maybe people in their 60s were not at the center of research, but I would say

I would question whether this is actually true. Stats on Field medalists have to be taken with a grain of salt, given that it is awarded at 40 years top in the first place

Well, these are mutable, but only in the ST or IO monad - which is a guarantee, but at the same time it is not quite the same thing. You cannot just accumulate state by mutating some stuff, then in a separate part of the program mutate it a

How does Perelman proof involve elliptic curves? I thought it was about properties of the solutions to the Ricci flow equation, hence more of a difficult problem in PDE. I have no clue where elliptic curves would arise

I tried to look for some math topics, such as "harmonic analysis", "lie algebras" and "model theory" - unfortunately none of the matches were relevant for any of the queries

The AST of Nim is a simple tree, the only thing is that the nodes of this tree are tagged with a kind that represents the kind of syntactic element, since the language is not homoiconic

Yeah, I know, I don't want to use docker. The problem is that C and C++ offer no real option in this camp. I'd be happy with anything that resolves and download dependencies, builds them locally (using CMake?) and adds the correct

The problem is that it does not manage and version dependencies for you. Say I start a new C++ project where I want - say - use ZeroMQ and also Folly to parse JSON. Where do I start? Should I install ZeroMQ and its headers globally? What if

Well, the example you are looking at is very complex, but also you are very unlikely to run into it early! For better examples, look at the homepage: you will see something much more approachable. The reason this snippet is complex is that:
