The only plus I can see is a focus on DLNA might make DLNA not _strictly_ garbage. In reality if you don't want to use Plex and don't need to rely on DLNA, there's other options out there like Jellyfin or Emby.

I noticed yesterday how much traffic was on my 2.4GHz IoT network last night because my phone connected to it. TBH I have no problem with everything being on 2.4, I just wish it was common to have two 2.4 radios so you could have a true IoT

This comment reminds me when Apple revamped Finder to include "All My Files". To me it felt like they were giving up. "FINE! Can't find something? HERE'S EVERYTHING!" These sort of pseudo-directories honestly b

2. The hinges on laptop displays are typically only tuned for the weight of the lid. Added weight on the lid (especially the weight of a phone) could damage it over time.

I work 100% in a git UI. Everything but merge diffs I do in Sourcetree... for diffs I use VS. It's how I've learned. Here's some of my scattered reasoning: - It's a separate, dedicated application to do just my source co

You've hit the nail on the head. So many jailbreak exploits have been done because of Webkit exploits. Allowing other engines on the phone would make them lose control over their walled garden.

Not surprising with a supposed 1.8B active iOS devices and no way to run another browser engine. I haven't daily driven macOS in a few years... from when I last used Safari it was too minimalistic and the browser features lagged behind

I agree with the last point, so I usually end up delegating any sort of logic handling to my automations. ESPHome will just report the state of sensors, my code figures out what to do with them.

I love ESPHome. Here's some of the stuff I've been able to accomplish: - Expose IR commands for turning our bedroom fan on/off along with some battery-powered candles - Flashed it to a Sonoff S31 to detect if our electric fir

I was a WP dev for 5-7 years before moving on to bigger and better things. It's easy to hate on the platform, for both justified and unjustified reasons. As a writer, it's good not great. As a low code dev, it's the best beca

Folders are something that's been needed in WordPress for 10+ years and hasn't gained any traction. It's to the point where it's beyond terrible and is a large reason I don't use WP anymore.

A _very_ consistent issue I have is my car did not come with Bluetooth audio (it was a $800 option at the time). I bought a Bluetooth adapter that just plugs into AUX. My current Android phone will not automatically connect to this device,

The major issue I've had with Bluetooth has been one of two things: - Microphone quality sucks and unless your headphones emulate two BT devices, your audio quality has to drop to a terrible early-2000's codec. - Now that I have a
