By the way: to know when your design is finished you can use this simple rule: * If you don't know what to change it's finished. This, of course, will change over time and might be different for every design.

I think for beginners (in webdesign) there are some very simple rules to start with: * Only use one font to start with * Only choose 3 colors max * Only choose 3 font sizes max * Only choose 3 margin sizes max * Align everything

What about power consumption as another valid argument? Your battery will last longer without Javascript.

This is not a news article, this is sugar for the brain. They are 'forced' to do the job? They only get paid $'x' without any reference to local income? Some workers work 6 days a week? Do they choose to do so to earn mo

I use this with my crappy webcam. The long 'exposure' fixes noise so it can also take nice pictures when there is no much light. The same technique is also used in 3D path tracers. You sample a pixel multiple times to reduce noise

It's funny that this also seems to work for humans. When the outcome is bad/not what humanity wants, we get/give a negative response and hope the outcome next time will be better.

I don't buy that he sucks at Photoshop. I think he just used Paint because it's available on all Windows PCs. This looks very nice, but I don't think his skills has a lot to do with Paint only. After all it's just a tool

I know servos don't step, but doesn't the decoder 'count' steps? But I totaly agree with you, they are completely different. Maybe in this case it was not very clever to oversimplify the problem. By the way: you point ou

Yes I simplified. But in a way servos are also step/pulse controlled. Edit: as other point out 'controlled' is not the best word here. Maybe 'positioned' would have been better.

Most industrial motors are also 'cheap', but controlling them is expensive. There are two things that matter: accuracy and repeatability. Most of the time accuracy is not a problem. But repeatability is. For example when you move

I think he meant putting constraint and index logic in the code. For example: I've seen people rely on a unique index in the code. But if you set a unique index in the DB you know it will be unique always. Even when the code is replace

I did not say that. It might be the best solution when nothing is moving. Our brains also cannot measure distance when there are unknown reference objects and everything is standing still.

LIDAR is not a hack. It measures depth even when objects are not moving. With vision we can estimate depth, but sometimes we need movement for that.

In 2013 Amazon (I think) estimated that 1 second delay would cost you 7% of your sales. And while most developers know this there are still developers creating slow and bloated sites. So this site is also nice, but I don't think it wil

Your argument about the closed source is weak. Messing around with Wireshark is probably quicker than reading thousands of locs. I understand the value of open source. But I'm still not sure if it matters. A lot of people think that op
