Or you get used to it early by moving to a place like Adelaide, Australia, where you 3 or so have 42C plus days in a row in summer and they already have built a desalination plant during the last proper drought.

For all the people dealing with shitty dell customer support on the phone, try using their @dellcares twitter account. Had a broken acreen glass and later a faulty fan on my 2014 xps 13, and they sent around a technician each time, all via

Or, like when I interviewed once at a very large broadcasting org, they put you in a meeting room with a laptop (windows 7 which I never used before, bad keyboard, bad editor, no internet or reference), give you some half arsed questions an

Yep, an article from 2012 is totally accurate and nothing has happened since. I'm not into php dev anymore, by any means, but glancing at the improvements that have come through lately, even i have to admit that there's been a mas

Am I missing something, or is what the article describes something that doesn't look that far from from React components, really, minus many of its benefits like shadow dom, being reactive, JSX being easier than strings? So you render

Just build the dom in JS, like so: React.createElement( string/ReactClass type, [object props], [children ...] )

Maybe include an instruction on which keys I am meant to be using to move around? I couldn't figure it out because I died to fast every time, and gave up after 3 or 4 tries.

To give a counter example, I run Ubuntu 14.04 on a NUC with a Dell U2713H via displayport and a samsung 24 inch via HDMI. The whole thing was a matter of install, and be ready to go. No command line dances needed. I think it comes down to p

I have been in the business for 15 years now.I started as the guy that did the table-and-frameset static websites, and if I look back now there's a myriad of things that I had to learn and 75% of that I have probably forgotten again. T

I so very much hope you are right. Personally I perceive the shift to a more and more locked down platform (appstore, gatekeeper) a betrayal of the crowd that made OSX a viable desktop alternative through early adoption. I refuse to accept

Do you think there is a correlation between lack of usable infrastructure (even in the past) and rule breaking? When I grew up in Germany, infrastructure was good and people obeyed traffic signs etc, when I lived in London it was every man

I am talking about perceived risk of cycling as a hyperbole vs actual risks that don't get mentioned. I'm pretty sure more people get killed by cars mounting the sidewalk.

In the overall road toll, hardly any fatalities are caused by cyclists. In fact, most accidents involving cyclist are caused by drivers.[1] Don't get me wrong, all of it counts and is sad and regrettable. I do however think there is an

Very sad. However, you kind of made my point. That amounts to 0.8 pedestrian fatalities a year caused by cyclists, with a population of 8.4 million people.

The transgression of cycling through a red light is much more visible than lets say speeding, mobile phone or dangerous driving. Yet it is also much less dangerous than any of those things. Even if we assume that there is a massive level o

While I totally understand that it must've felt menacing to nearly have been hit by a bicycle, do you _really_ think it would've killed you? I also think that cyclists shouldn't ride at speed on the sidewalk, but even if, cyc

Got any hard numbers on the menace part, and how it compares to cars as dangerous machines, or is that just anecdotal "evidence"? From what I have seen Sydney has a really obnoxious anti-cycling culture and a dismal level of cycl
