Yous have another column which is a flag giving the stae of the attribute. Note that not known and not valid for the row are two different states. If you set the attribute to NULL - which of the two do you mean? Actually you give the answer

Gmane nntp access still works and I don't think has had any issues. The web interface to gmane has gone (due to self admitted errors by the original owner)

Not exactly it does newsgroups only which is a small part of Goole groups. Most of Google Groups is mailing lists which can just be created unlike a newsgroup.

Add to the fun GFoogle Groups have stopped carrying some groups because they had too much spam. As others noted much of it was coming from google groups itself, if only it had the spam filters other usenet providers had.

It has been done. See xonsh a python shell which manages the distinction you mention. Also see scsh and rash for scheme Fish for non posix but sane syntax

I have several bands who do release the same song several times. EG live albums, some do new versions and now without the limitation of record or CD length multiple takes of the same song in the same album

Yes but the problem is that fish is not POSIX and so can't be the standard. Agreed that allowing non POSIX might improve an OS.

No it does not. This is from experience. The CO2 level in my bedroom gets high whilst I sleep. I open the window and the CO2 drops quickly but the VOC pollutant levels rise.

It is impossible to prove that someone did not say a particular thing so I don't think anyone can correct you. The only thing that can happen is if someone can find the quote and confirm your memory.

If Jobs did not care a ot Smalltalk the why was Next based on Objective C which is basically Smalltalk grafted onto C. I suspect the reason that the Lisa was not Lisp or Smalltalk based is due to speed and cost of memory.

No. If you use 1password or similar your credit card details are in one place only. You do not allow merchants to save your credit card details.

I am in the UK. As an anecdote - not passing on my credit card details is one reason why I use paypal and then pay Paypal by credit card to get the good disputes process and I trust paypal more than a unknown random place on the web. I now
