True but Firefox is mainly written by people who want to earn a living. Much FOSS is actually written by people who are being paid to do it, How do you fund the producers of Firefox and the infrastructure needed to get it built and released

Fine. Then pay for the tools you use rather than force them to get money from another source. The toolmakers work to earn a living.

No one is suggesting changing it. This whole thread is about an alternative syntax for python. I was pointing out that there is yet another alternative. I prefer lisp syntax over indentation aware (e.g. python) over block syntax and at the

No macOS does not. The issue is the file system. Apple file systems allow a file to have extended attributes or resource forks. Thus a file is not a simple stream of bytes. When you copy a file to a file system (e.g. FAT) that does not unde

The issue is where does this information go. If in a central place what happens if the original directory is moved - how is the metadata updated. - Unix is another file somewhere, Windows can be in the registry. With Apple it is kept with t

Why are you surprised? I have been writing client server apps since the late 80s. Originally a central DB and a PC front end. But the server could be doing business processing e.g. feeds and processing of stock prices. Client Server predate

I wonder why enterprises use Windows and Java rather than convert to the latest new language. The enterprise want to keep running. IT is a cost so not needing to upgrade is a massive win.

So does Apple make it easy to export even now, just one click on the menu in the System Settings. I assume having an app would make it easier. So you have two password managers one for Firefox and the other for apps. What happens if you hav

Here there is no problem. You have a completely free choice to use 1password, BitWarden, KeePass etc ..... Apple is not stopping you. Forcing all browsers on iOS to use Safari is a different matter.

This is my main gripe as well. My current workaround is to use Orion as my browser. Its profiles are clunkier than safari and don't exist on iOS (but I don't care about that)
