The thing is, while we care about it here at HN, most people don't really care. Apple is a cult among consumers and they aren't going to switch even if they started putting in way more ads. They know, similar to Windows, that they

We didn't want Israel to have nukes either, we tried to stop them and failed. We wouldn't bomb Israel's nukes because they -already- have them, and they have grown in a semi-reliable regional ally since then. We are trying to

History disagrees with you, and Iran is the #1 state sponsor of terrorism. They were even providing Russia with arms for their invasion of Ukraine. Let's not equate them with many others, such as Poland, etc. Iran absolutely should not

They didn't vote for Trump, so now what? People that try to paint people into a political corner should really get out more. Not only is it annoying and off-putting, it's an intellectual dead end.

People care more about if a ride is cheap and effective than who owns it. I know that bursts a lot of political die hard bubbles, but it's the absolute truth.

The government is going to sell it to whoever is in office's buddies and they are going to strip mine and log it. Most of Nevada and Utah are uninhabitable, but perfect for corporations that don't want to abide by environmental la

I think if Robotaxis take off, then his politics won't matter at all. People aren't going to care what brand of car comes to pick them up as long as they feel safe. I've been bearish on Tesla for years and they always prove m

This was obvious from the start. Microsoft tried to do a convergence of design across devices too and it failed. I have a feeling this will be a failure as well, different use cases simply require different designs. Despite all the talent a

I think this isn't a real concern, but there is going to be a shortage of workers that collect the data in general which could affect the numbers. OddLots covered this for Bloomberg https://podcasts.apple.com/us/po

I think if we go into a sharp recession companies will use this as an excuse to replace workers with other workers that effectively use AI cutting down on overhead. It just seems obvious this will happen. I don't think it's the do

This is kind of bad, because it makes it very hard to reach people for social events. I run a fan group for a European soccer team and it's very hard to do outreach because no one is really checking social media for that type of thing.

I deal with WordPress a lot, and at least for my set of clients they just don't even have time for this, even with AI. They just wants leads. AI currently is good I guess for a standard 3-5 page site just like some of the other standar

Musk to his credit is pretty anti-tariff, and has touted a 0% tariff environment with Europe. It's Navarro and Lutnick that are the devil's whispering into his ear on this policy.

I honestly don't think this was their overall goal (it doesn't logically make sense, given tax receipts dip during recessions and governments often take on even more debt,) but I do think that is why they blinked.

The world's most powerful consumer country putting broad tariffs on all imports that will be historically as high as the 1800s and higher than most any other major economy is indeed a move to an "age of tariffs" and is a bfd.

Tax receipts drop during recessions, generally governments have to issue even -more- debt during them.

Microsoft is just so bad at marketing their products, and their branding is confusing. Unfortunately, until they fix that, any consumer facing product is going to falter. Look at the new Microsoft 365 and Office 365 rebrands just of late. T
