It sounds like you're right. Also, that's the book I read way back then! Neat, I'll have to pick it up again.

Unrelated but fun story about antagonists and undersea cables that I saw in some Cold War history book in college. The CIA had cooked up a bonkers covert mission to send a submarine with an airlock right into the soviets’ top submarine harb

Documented testimony of flagrant disregard for interstate law might have something to do with it. If one of the many jurisdictions passed through has camera footage with the car and face uniquely identified, that’s a lot of legal exposure.

You are replying to OP who wrote the article. I might have missed it but I don’t think they described any ongoing legal action against this particular copycat.

Where I’m from in southern USA, there are 65mph state highways with 4 way traffic light intersections. There is always a “stop light ahead” sign, and the rule is simple: if you are traveling the speed limit and you pass the “stop light ahea

A lot of Amazon warehouses operate roughly 24/7, so there are multiple shifts. Also, keep in mind that there are truck drivers, vending supply stockers, safety specialists, IT folks, etc supporting the whole operation.

Actually, pretty much every Amazon FC (at least in North America) has free coffee machines in the breakrooms. Some FCs have really bad coffee, but it is there and it is free. It used to cost money at some sites (to pay for the vending machi

False equation. It is silly to compare the operation of the entire US government to a small special ops team from a 3-letter agency using a small special ops court to compel a small special ops team within a corporation to do something. The

True. However, I feel that UPS has the customer obsession factor that other 100 year old companies don’t. See, for instance, the parent headline. UPS is fanatical about delivering packages and is therefore willing to work with a doomsday co

Yes, it is coming (google Ship with Amazon) but UPS will be fine. In much the same way Amazon has a head start on other e-commerce firms, UPS has on Amazon. They have been customer-obsessed in one of the hardest spaces (Meatspace logistics)

Woah. This is awesome! I travel for work and keeping my plants happy has been vicious trial and error with passive auto watering stakes. I've been looking for a convenient sensor package so I don't have to muck around with wires.
