There are dozens of us! I use the phone as trackpad when I need to. Small BT keyboard, but thinking of learning the Charachorder. Nreal Air + S22 Ultra DeX + AVNC + proot Ubuntu (via Andronix) + VSCode with the Remote Development extension

I agree, and I would add that that frankly I don't think it will take off at all until the UX for syndicating between YouTube and PeerTube were also buttery smooth. Even then, there need to be incentives for creators in addition to dis

Build a brand and reputation with followers who consume your content for you. The content has to be good of course such that people share to their friends directly.

I'm glad I migrated our 2FA from Twilio to Vonage some weeks ago after an awful experience with toll fraud (more info here: https://yousefamar.com/memo/log/2023-01-29-00-05-40/ )

I would suggest trying AR glasses rather than VR headsets. I work on the go on Nreal Air glasses (basically a Full HD monitor in glasses form) over Samsung DeX and VNC. My phone turns into a track pad and I carry a small keyboard.

I covered this in my PhD thesis, please check it out and I'd love to hear your thoughts as someone working on this (relatively lonely) problem! https://yousefamar.com/memo/notes/my/phd/ From what yo

My setup is quite unusual in that I VNC into Linux over Samsung DeX. After working around its annoying unchangeable keybindings, I remap the keys back as they should be on the Linux side with xmodmap. But then it seems to only change keycod

It's rare that I come across software with such thoughtfully designed UI and great UX where everything just works™, including things you didn't know you needed. I felt like I immediately knew where everything was (even without tog

First thing I did when I opened this thread is ctrl+f PWA. Glad you mentioned it even though your comment was so far down. The other big positive is that the closer PWAs are to native apps in functionality, the less of a stranglehold Apple

Can't believe you've published 100 apps and are only now experiencing this. That's the craziest part to me. It's not just Google Play btw -- the app stores are so notoriously bad that they nearly made me quit app develop

I can't believe I had to scroll this far down to find this comment! People are just assuming that positively correlating testing with further testing somehow implies that the way we test is indicative of future work performance or even

That's what mime-type headers are for. The URL should locate a resource, as the name suggests, not necessarily convey metadata about what the resource is.

That sounds like a lot of work for what could be covered by self-destructing cookies, spoofing your user-agent, and in the worst case using Tor (which for me is a keyboard shortcut in Brave). I really don't think the extra hassle of VM

I knew immediately it's Upwork. This is extremely common on there. The main reason is because developers in Western countries can demand higher rates. Just watch out for the red flags: mismatching LinkedIn experience, no camera during

Sometimes it's also better to lose a battle in order to win a war. For example, I once thought a certain feature was useless and not worth the effort to implement. I knew however that if I chose that hill to die on, it would lead to a

I really wanted to love Matrix but it just doesn't cut it yet. I hope it gets there in the coming years, rather than go the way of XMPP, but atm, I can no longer in good conscience try to convince people to give Matrix a shot, if it fa
