I do agree with this sentiment. When I saw pewdiepie jokingly claim his YouTube news program to be "the most trustworthy news source", I actually want to agree with it seriously.

I don't think Wikipedia is a good example. It has suffered from vandalism and edit wars ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Edit_warring ). It will only get worse when more people rely on it and more people

It doesn't work if you suddenly lost your access without prior notice. I have documented a few cases of such unnoticed termination in my blog post: https://paradite.com/2016/02/18/stay-independent-problem

The title has been changed to "Twitter’s deletion of its Facebook app caused old cross-posts to temporarily disappear" on techcrunch. The Hacker News title should be updated as well.

Thank you for the quick fix. And no, I don't go crazy over grammar or spelling (English is my second language as well). I think the website looks pretty cool and well written overall.

Slightly off topic, but I have this OCD that my brain hurts when I see people use wrong capitalization for products. > It is strongly influenced by jquery... Please use jQuery instead, thank you.

I have sympathy for you for being downvoted. I have raised this issue a couple of times before for using github for things other than hosting source code (hosting online courses, using github issues as calendar or comment system for blogs).

First, that was from last month, before the Uighur issue was blowing up, not today. Second, that was a positive followup to a negative story, not a new negative story.

It is true that not everyone agrees it is not a bad measure. But that's not what I mean. What I mean is: - "I" don't think it is not bad. - Some policy makers in the U.S. are doing similar things, so there are at least s

My bad, fixed my wording. Do send me an article that talks about something negative about Chinese government but doesn't mention Uighurs if you come across one. I would like to keep it. My contact information is pretty easy to find.

For those who just read the headline and are thinking about (or even commenting on) cops being "physically" in the U.S. to spy on people, no, it is not what's happening. The headline is grossly misleading. The only news here

HN headlines like this is why China discourages April fools day. People who don't have time to read the article will have the idea of "China is spying on all cars using Chinese 5G Modems" in their mind and it's hard to c
