This is a real failure of browsers, by the way. The table HTML has all the semantic information necessary, browsers could use it to improve table usability (such as sticky headers) but none ever bothered to try.

From skimming the thread I get the impression it's a beta quality / work-in-progres kind of deal. Is that the case?

It's just exception throw/catch. The only difference to other languages is that you're not supposed to use it, as a matter of principle.

I agree, but given enough incentive these barriers can be overcome. I thing these are signs that ad-blocking is becoming sufficiently painful to provide that incentive.

The longstanding joke is to substitute 'S' for the '-'. Around 2000 I briefly worked at a telco equipment manufacturer that shipped for Solaris, AIX and HP-UX. Back then the hierarchy was already as you described.

280W is for the 32 core chip. Rumor has it that there won't be a 16 core TR, but if there were the TDP would certainly be much lower.

Thank you for posting that, its nice to see an "authority" validating something that I've often felt the need to point out: people tend to misattribute to ease of use what is merely familiarity.

Just been to Air and Space Museum recently, as it happens. There's a walkway right next to the X-15, so you can actually see it from very up close.

Yes! That was my first thought. The way SMR and SSDs work actually aligns pretty well with log structured filesystems. In this case, the firmware translation layer is only getting in the way.

All radio is wireless :) Radio was invented in the second half of the 19th century, so pretty mature by then. I guess a sufficiently miniaturized earpiece does sound impressive for the time, but it seems likely the radio itself would be too

Consumption is legal, sale is not. That's what "decriminalization" usually describes, as opposed to "legalization" Edit: but sale of cannabis is legal in the NL, under some conditions.

At the very minimum, having the local file status and recent history visible in a window at all times (i.e. a permanent 'git status', 'git log' and 'git diff' view) makes a GUI worthwhile. I can't even ima

Distro repositories can't keep up with the number or timeliness of updates. When youtube deploys an update that breaks the tool (happens on a semi-regular basis), you want access to the fix ASAP.

This was true up until now, but the upcoming 3900X and 3950X have 2 separate dies ("chiplets"). I assume this means it will have the same architecture as the current TR 2920X and 2950X. Edit: opencl post above says apparently not,
