I have a hilarious list of animals that my cat has been misclassified as by my iPhone. Everything from a beetle to a nematode. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in these features!

Can you elaborate more on the stigma? From my perspective, if I were talking to someone with hearing aids I wouldn't give it a second thought (or I would try to speak more clearly). Talking to someone with Airpods in, I might assume th

If the company doesn't have a dedicated recruiter and it's just the engineers / managers recruiting, it'll often take a long time because they have other priorities and may generally be waiting for the right person.

It seems to me that AI detection is best done in the editor itself. If you track a student's mouse and keyboard there should be a clear distinction between someone plagiarizing (even if they're re-typing word for word) vs writing

Truckers are required to have commercial licenses which makes traffic violations considerably harsher and more expensive. It would make sense to at least extend that to all vehicles over 5,000 lbs. Someone speeding in an F350 can cause a LO

Very interesting! I'd love to see a breakdown of various formats including YAML, TOML, CSV, and HCL with their relative cost vs accuracy.

Sqids[1] might fit the bill for you - the IDs it produces are much shorter than UUIDs, however they're not universally unique - they're generated from an integer sequence. 1. https://sqids.org/

I asked for an 'interactive particle simulation' and got a big gray rectangle. Then I clicked regenerate and the page crashed. To me it's not clear how I would debug the component, I can ask for modifications but not like add

Bitcoin only uses huge amounts of energy because the bitcoin community likes it that way. Nearly all other blockchains use some form of Proof of Stake model and their energy use isn't much more than a typical cloud service.

Ethereum is a strict improvement on Bitcoin in nearly every way. Proof of Stake is a much better consensus mechanism all-around. Smart contracts allow for way more use-cases than just money transfer. The account model is much simpler and mo

Two things that will help immensely: 1. Have sheer window blinds that let natural light in as the sun comes up. 2. Set your thermostat on a timer to raise the temperature in the room (or at least turn off AC) before you need to wake up.

I use an AI calendar and scheduling tool every day, I just built it myself using OpenAI APIs, a Slack app, and Google Calendar API. You should give it a shot yourself because it's a great way to learn to build AI apps.

IMO, the best place to keep that rainy day savings is in gold coins that are well-hidden in your house. It'll keep up with inflation, easy to transport or grab in a pinch, cannot be taken by your bank, and are very quick to liquidate i
