This also misses the point that EVs are cheaper over time. There is currently a slightly higher upfront cost, but there are no oil changes, less break wear due to regenerative breaking, no transmission to service, no spark plugs, no timing

Is there a way to tell which banks are the weaker banks? I know the fed does stress tests but I've read that Silicon Valley Bank didn't take part, so I don't know how to get the data.

But were you actually purchasing 2-4 drinks per person per day before getting this setup? If not, this doesn't pay for itself as quickly as you'd think.

Okay, maybe "keylogger" was incorrect, but Grammarly has the potential to expose users to all types of security risks they might not realize are possible. Here's a past example: https://bugs.chromium.org/p

It's very early for users to not understand and for apps to ask for a bunch of permissions. One great example is Grammarly, which is a keylogger that helps users with grammar. I don't think Grammarly has bad intentions, but still,

Mostly PowerBI, plus a little bit of the "operational analytics" movement, which is essentially an anti-dashboarding phenomenon. Example operational analytics tools that aren't dashboards but that can be used serve a similar

To be honest, that sounds like analytics/BI or data science, not data engineering. Are you suggesting OP pivot their career into one of those roles?

Disagree, at least in this instance. Math isn't a bad thing to learn but it's not helpful for data engineering. Data engineering is focused on data integration (data pipelines), not on any type of analysis or data science.

Yes, look up the company called dbt to learn more. (I don't work there or anything, it's just a popular tool and their website explains it well.)

I would focus on theory first, then tools. I recommend the following, in order: 1) Data modeling: Fully read Kimball's book, The Data Warehouse Toolkit, 3rd edition. It's outdated and boring but it's an excellent foundation,

I'm not sure if these are "valid reasons" but here's my guess: Palantir is a professional services company with a handful of large customers, such as the US Government. It seems like they're trying to pivot away fro

Climate tech doesn't have to be crazy futuristic ML models or whatever in order to be useful. For instance, I love the Purple Air air quality sensors, which crowdsource data and use a simple existing technology. (See https://

That sounds like a data governance problem that goes above and beyond the things that DBT does. The typical way to handle this is by implementing a gold/silver/bronze architecture.

You have to go back a step, to ETL vs ELT. ELT is powerful because you're doing the transformations as the final step, so you can quickly ingest the data and then transform it however you want and in different ways. While you may not l

I agree with this. Having the device "correct" something that you've just gone back to fix is extremely frustrating. That said, there are times when retroactive correction is useful. If I type "new york," it's

I also use Gboard for Dvorak on iOS (well, prior to reading this post) and it's laggy and slow. I think that's true for all non-native keyboards on iOS, though. I've just switched to this new native keyboard option and after
