“Happily obese” people like to point out how wrong BMI is. Little did they know they were right for the wrong reason.

Chrome has a hard wall around some features like chrome.scripting and promised APIs (MV3-only) but Firefox doesn’t. It seems that Firefox is keeping around the same MV2 APIs so Firefox extensions will eventually be able to update the MV num

That wasn’t the intention obviously. You may call it shortsighted, but they certainly wanted to kill the old platform and start fresh. Only now we know that wasn’t as easy. In reality we should be thankful that it hasn’t happened (yet) rath

Tailwind is a too-big CSS file. If you want to use Tailwind, you must use a builder. This guy is clueless. wget https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/tailwindcss/2.2.19/tailwind.min.css HTTP requ

Opt-in analytics are useless, unless a large part of your userbase just clicks through the entire wizard without thinking; there’s little overlap with Homebrew’s userbase

I don’t think you actually need many, it depends on the actual traffic. If it’s empty, I assume 4 phones would be enough. If there are other cars moving much faster than you, then the average would be moved higher.

Doesn't sound interesting to me. Safari also implemented a very popular feature first a year ago, long before that act (:has() selector). Even if Safari were to be the best browser ever, I don’t think that would save Apple, so any deve

I'm pretty sure a bunch of people on HN were complaining about this exact postinstall notice when it was set up. People saying "it's his right" were the downvoted minority.

If you fire my gun, whose fault is it? If you jump in front of my car I bear zero responsibility. If anything, you should be paying for damage to me. How much time he actually had to react is up to anyone’s guess, but let's not dum

I found these useless facts to be recorded in such detail. “People are concerned about future livability” is plenty details.

This looks more like a list of food I’d like to try (or have tried) rather than worst. I bet that the battered and deep-friend hamburgers I saw in Malaysia beat everything on this list.

That’s why I said. Still not good but at least it won’t judge you by saying it’s “unethical” and “immoral”. Plenty of searches are still possible on Google but aren’t on ChatGPT, like “what are you doing stepbro”

Are you talking about the same ChatAI that will go in a loop as soon as you deviate slightly from a “clean” conversation? Google cleaned up their SERPs terribly over the the last few years but still returns some results for any query.

True, but you assume 2FA is implemented correctly and doesn’t have a bypass. What I’m saying is that they’re often poor at what they do, so I don’t put excessive trust in them.

Nobody renovates houses in Japan. You're supposed to destroy it and build anew. For 15k you're buying the lot and the right to spend a lot more than that.

Having seen many of these systems myself, I doubt they’re “almost as good in features.” My European bank (one of the largest in my country) doesn’t accept passwords longer than 8 characters. Imagine how bad the rest of the systems is.

I love them for it. When I don’t live in Europe it’s infuriating to see the price levitate after every checkout step. Thankfully it’s still not as bad as it used to be like 10-15 years ago.

That’s laughable. Twitter is one of the best web apps I use both on desktop and in iOS while Reddit is pathetic. They’re not in the same galaxy.
