Redis comes to my mind which is actively developed and can be considered one of the new projects that is powering lot of new stuffs ... Also SQlite, Postgres which are very actively developed and again being used in much of the newer stuffs

As a start, it will be nice to just show the relative intensity of the light ignoring clouds and stuffs ... for example, people should know early morning, mid day and evening from the map which helps which part of the globe is going to get

I just noticed that Reframe README is very amusing and wickedly hilarious in some parts. It is very refreshing to read compared to other bland/formal/techinical READMEs ... Maybe in future I will try and see if using Reframe itsel
