In the meanwhile, I hear there are problems in GCP too. This week, AWS is smiling while eating popcorn at this as Ubuntu did with CentOS' news.

I feel I need this so badly. The last time I wrote something in JavaScript was around 10 years ago and I want to get up to date. One of the chapters is named "the old 'var'". I didn't know it was old, which proves

I'm quite surprised, by looking at the post date, they didn't use the new Graviton2 instances. I'm afraid this post is born already obsolete on this matter.

I work in a OTA and you would be surprised to know how much of the accommodation industry still relies on good old fax machines. I'm not aware of any other industry using fax as much as this (which I'm sure there is).

I have to disagree. Got is as hard and complicated as you want it to be. For the most common usage (commit, push, pull, checkout) it's very, very simple and easy to grasp. This is like saying "computers are too hard".

Every time I see something like this I immediately remember all the fun I had so many years ago with Soundtracker for Amiga. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Soundtracker Sweet old memories...

Mmm, ok, however, the example just looks like bad sync between the server side and UX/copy teams because of poorly written user stories. I think they should fix the development processes before the copy strategy.

Don't get me wrong, but, although I might entirely agree with what this page says, it's an opinion (as they state) and I kinda liked the idea that this foundation had no place for opinions. Just thinking out loud...

I think it's a good list of things to take in consideration. I wouldn't take it as a dogma but it's definitely a good guide to use as starting point.

Disclaimer: I work for one of the biggest OTA's in the world, precisely in the accommodation area. You are describing what could be a reason to keep those CC details but definitely there are other ways to do it, including delegating va

I'm forced to work with it on daily basis and it makes my life more miserable. I just wish it wasn't the defacto standard and CTOs started to get fired for choosing it. That's how much I like it.

You are right, for some reason I totally forgot about it (probably because I still do it on each node since I started when that feature didn't exist). Interesting about the exporter, thanks for sharing.

I'm wondering how they manage the tables creation on a 100 nodes cluster. Is it all by hand? And why do to they use clickhouse_exporter? Doesn't the built in exporter provide the required data?
