Everyone laughing at PHP hasn't tried it for years, I'd bet. It started clumsy, true, but it became a solid and quite elegant way of doing things. And by things I don't mean just web development. The current limitations I see

Ideally, I would use it this way (as a narrative): Calendar: dinner with Anna and John next Friday. I know Anna is vegan and John hates hot spicy food. Go through a possible list of menus (not recipes) for the night, based on food that take

Don't get me wrong, I think yours is definitely a no-bs application, however I think the entire recipe search engines is not working, or at least, not in the way I expect it to work. I wish it was more a holistic solution, mixing calen

I really see the greatness of the serverless option. Congratulations! What I can't really understand is why would someone use the dedicated cluster in AWS at that price.

When you are forced to sit in the floor because the train is packed and there is no room to even walk inside, when temperatures are beyond 35'C, air conditioning is not a western commodity (btw, I am not from US) but a necessity.

You don't have to go to these remote places to feel the vintage-discomfort of old, smelly and unpunctual trains! Just visit Italy, where even diesel trains and optional time-tables will make your journey through art exceptional! I stil

During years not much has been done. The problem is that pickpocketing pays off for people that has nothing or very little to loose. Much of the problem is in the hands of clans of underages that arrived to Spain with nothing. The law can&#

Lots of opinions about Barcelona, I see. Somehow I feel I know the city quite well. I moved here more than 20 years ago and I can compare it to others cities I live in or visited. Barcelona is relatively safe, although, as it's been me

Rather than adding my own personal experience in the matter, I want to do gratulate the author for the article. It's engaging and even entertaining. Very well done!

I live in Barcelona, where public transportation is quite good and it doesn't take me more than 20 minute to get to the office. Still, I prefer to work remotely. Commuting in certain places makes working remotely a necessity but this i

The main issue that doesn't seem to be reflected here is that it's really hard to have a database and your application in different locations. Latency and security are big components in the general equation and both might be affec

I'm new to C4 but so far, after 5 mins read, I can't see anything you can't achieve with PlantUML. I'm surely missing something, though. To be honest, diagram-as-code is so powerful I can't be tempted by eye-candy.

Elasticsearch is good because it just ingests whatever you sent to it, which allows you to deliver solutions rather quickly. Having said this, I agree there are better solutions. (Also, Elasticsearch shines because of its full text search c
