   I'm based in europe. So no Verizon. The mifi looks good even though it needs, as far as I know, the proprietary software for setting it up. I know it seems like a pet peeve but running macosx with vodafone's (actually novamedia's) software

   Nice. It's doing most of what I described indeed. Still I was thinking more of a integrated modem with cellphone battery king of thing. Just insert SIM card kind of solution.

   Don't get me wrong, the perspective behind this really interests me. I think, however, that it's a infrastructure question. Following the Google Gears argument I would agree that it is much more interesting to keep your private data localy
