Similarly - look at the macros on a whopper from burger king - other than the high sodium it's a pretty well balanced meal if you skip the fries and soda.

There's been plenty of amazing and culturally relevant games recently, you just have rose tinted glasses for the time you grew up in (or you haven't been gaming much). I'll just list a handful of really well known ones. * Bas

Youtube background play being a paid feature is so brazen. Google are disabling a basic UX feature in their OS and then letting you pay for it in one app that they control.

I honestly can't fathom caring about the difference between 6.2m a year and anything higher than that. Once my salary gets that high all I'm caring about is whether or not I'm doing interesting things.

Imo standups shouldn't have more than 5 or 6 people in them. If there's more than that you're probably not all working closely enough for the standup to provide much value - find some nice cutting point in the project, split

With the latency + perfect blacks of modern OLED displays you could probably build a "fake" CRT with some purpose built image processing in to fake the look of subpixels etc. Stick it in a housing with appropriate inputs, have it

This only works if you hire enough really good engineers and have them spend most of their time mentoring, and most companies aren't willing to accept the senior engineers individual contributions on paper dropping to zero.

I feel like that's a bad example because touchscreen controls in cars are just bad in general. Adding a new one makes the car worse because the touchscreen control is bad, not because of anything to do with consistency - all the other

I have to be honest, I don't really understand the appeal of the "dumb" part. You can just buy an android/apple phone and... only install the few apps you want to use. You don't need to go out of your way to buy a d

I think that just means "do you want to be able to install arbitrary android apps". At that point what's the difference between that and a regular smartphone?

Yes, form factor and "dumbness" are orthogonal - it sounds like the commenter you're replying to wants an ultra compact smartphone, not a dumbphone?

$800,000 is a lot of money, even after taxes you'd only have to work a few years at that salary before you could live reasonably comfortably for the rest of your life without working at all. Seems perfectly reasonably to switch to a lo

Yeah it kinda sounds like technically the outcome isn't triggered by the players inputs, but practically they've just designed a system that reacts to the players inputs in a much more convoluted manner than normal.

I'm confused - you posted on a thread about EVs, the problem here is a long term ramp up of demand over the span of years or decades as more and more people swap their ICE vehicles for EVs. This is a problem to be solved by the buildin
