That's very lopsided in favor of the GPU - if VPX is more CPU intensive that the average video game you could probably swap the 7800 xt for something much cheaper and get the same performance.

I think the only way to fix that would be to darken the yellow to the point where it's not really perceived as yellow anymore though - more like a muddy mustard. edit: op originally specifically referred to yellow.

Yeah Nix seems like an insanely useful concept (declarative, reproducable, diffable, source controllable definitions of linux environments). But actually using it is a nightmare. I think there's some point on the spectrum between "

I'm not really convinced more than a vanishingly small percentage of people who self identify as "free speech absolutists" are using that term in good faith. Freedom of speech is just the easiest way to have plausible deniabi

Dolphin and RPCS3 are also good examples of this. Less visually impressive than these, but definitely more than the norm, and packed with deep dives into the development of certain features.

I think you've misread the comment. They never called the "more corporate" era of 10-15 years ago the "early web", they were describing it as distinct from the even earlier "early web", which seems to be t

10% market share in any industry with an even slightly healthy level of competition is huge. The fact that people think it's not for tech feels like an indictment of the overall health of the industry to me.

21500 seems pretty cheap to me? Surely the most price conscious consumers would be looking at the second hand market instead anyway given how rapidly car value drops off once they're driven out of the lot.
