I recently learned that my device won't display UHD movies in Linux on my projector because HDMI is vendor-locked to Windows... Maybe this is something similar (a driver that was not done right)

The worst thing about LLM is that managers got convinced that LLMs improve performance and they calculated it in their spreadsheets, now requiring their teams to use LLM and enforcing the allegedly better productivity results. When it does

Reg. 3 AI is a lossy compression of text indeed. I recommend youtubing "karpathy deep dive LLM" (/7xTGNNLPyMI) - he shows that the open texts used in the training are regurgitated unchanged when speaking to the raw model. It

Recently archive.org got into trouble for renting one book (or fixed amount of books) exclusively on the whole world, like in a library. Sad men from law office came and made an example of them, but it seems that if they used those books to

Normally people get punished for downloading illegal books. Allegedly someone at meta downloaded hella ton of illegal books and taught the LLM on them and they said "oh it was for his/hers private usage". You won't get j

That's really impressive. As you wrote it in C it gets automatically compilable to webasm and usable in js. I wonder how Java would behave here... As JNI is not the fastest (used to be not the fastest?)

You're right, C++ generic implementation is different than Java for example. That's why it was hard for me to nail the features the generic should have in general... C++ is more like duck typing with precompiled checking i.e. If y

This are merely instanceof switches. Generics mean that you write fun(a,b): return a+b and if the a + b is doable, it will be done. You don't need to specify the list of types that accepts this syntax. The difference between th

I'd love to see the LLM trained on 1600s-1800s texts that would use the old English, and especially Polish which I am interested in. Imagine speaking with Shakespearean person, or the Mickiewicz (for Polish) I guess there is not so muc

Jetbrains CLion is great for non-Qt C++, albeit paid. It helped me deliver a bank-exchange-grade connector in a tight schedule with very little knowledge of C (at that time). Mostly with static checking, compiling, cmake etc.
