I built a shed office in my back garden. My garden is sloped. I was working on the roof trim of the shed up a ladder and it gave way. I hadn't been careful enough that the ground was level. I fell from about shoulder height and landed

One key takeaway is Barcelona is great, going back next summer. Another is think carefully every time your feet leave the ground. I fell off a ladder and was ok, but I could have broken my neck.

I walk to either the gelato shop, or cake shop, on a Friday night, and partake in one or the other. Love is measured in coffee cups and dessert.

I made a simple web booking system 15 years ago and people are still using it. I had very little idea of what I was doing. As others have said, make something and enjoy the work of your hands :-)

No formal training. I'm old enough that my first experience was copying other people's code from books. Then I graduated to copying code from online manuals and forums. Then I made a thing and people gave me money.

At 52 I found this article thoughtful. We shouldn't walk around fearing death but an awareness of our mortality should shape our decision making. For example, I am at an airport returning from another short break.I have decided not to

I started to walk 3 miles a day 3 years ago. I lost 80lbs. Do this and then think about what you eat next. Measure progress in months and years, not days and weeks.

Yes, app store delays were a shock to me. I made an app for a university pharmacy department. We had to go down the organisational app route as the app store wouldn't publish the app, too small an audience.

I had the same concern. I now use Gmail as my mail client but my email addresses live at Fastmail. So when Googles does something crazy to Gmail it will just be a matter of switching to another frontend.
