This project has existed for three years and that hasn't happened yet. Rendering pages with this thing has many many downsides (most notably that it is insanely slow, but also that it is incredibly lacking in tons of basic functionalit

No one reads the warnings on Wikipedia pages. Having pages that aren't considered officially maintained is messy and would probably lead to people seeing Wikipedia as having lower-quality articles overall.

Blocking a URL or a CSS class name can be done very efficiently/easily with a browser extension, while running OCR on an ad (most ads are images/videos rather than pure text) to find keywords is much more difficult and computation

A DV certificate does not certify that example.com is trustworthy; it only certifies that the content you're seeing is indeed from example.com. If users are mistakenly assuming DV certs have more meaning than that, then that is a UI is

This is very much the case. When employees/employers broadcast negative info about each other, both parties suffer. Obviously, the accused suffers because all this negative info about them is now public, but the accuser also suffers be

Eh, I don't think a post-mortem is really necessary. They said it was a broken code change on the status page. If they wrote a post-mortem, it'd probably just say "A team member forgot to foobar the bazqux when deploying an u

We'll have to wait for the postmortem, but I bet it was an unintentional dependency on S3 that no one realized had come into place until S3 went down -- especially considering how fast they were able to remove the dependency and fix it

Nowadays, I use Transmission. It's extremely simple with no visual clutter, open source + no ads, has command line and daemon features if you're into that sort of thing. Can't recommend it highly enough.
