We're not automating art, we're creating tools that make it easier for humans to create art. These are nothing more than new and exciting tools. The cream will still rise to the top, same as it ever was.

If you're just learning SvelteKit, check this tool out: https://github.com/svelte-add/svelte-add It will save you a ton of time by making it really easy to add integrations to your projects (like Tailwind, Bootstr

Sounds worse or on par with most stock/royalty free music. It's interesting that you can actually hear the absence of a soul.

It's one thing to get users. It's another to keep them. Mastodon's user experience is godawful. It might be an IRC replacement for nerds, but it'll never be Twitter.

Nitpicking is fine and encouraged, but the engineer himself started the thread by saying, "I have spent ~6yrs working on Twitter for Android and can say this is wrong." I agree with what you're saying. It was the way Elon mad

Sure it does, after 2008, my parents bought a house for $25k that would probably sell for $250k right now.

The idea of Mastodon is good but it's too annoying to use, and that will torpedo any hope for wide use.

Signed up for early access. We currently use Zencastr for recording our podcast, which has been great, but curious how Shasta will stack up and it'd be nice to not have to pay for two subscriptions.

Have done a couple of projects with sveltekit, including a redesign of my personal website and an internal tool for myself and colleagues for quality of life. I liked working with it, but I regret not waiting for 1.0 to really dive in. The

I find it hard to believe that most people on HN reuse the same e-mail and password. That practice has always been known to be stupid. There's a whole thing about it in the movie Hackers... from 1995. In 2022, your data isn't safe

I like that they're up front about this. Solved the problem in a couple of minutes. I use a password manager with a very long randomly generated password for everything, so a hashed password leaking is essentially meaningless to me. No

I've been dragging me feet on implementing k8s, suspecting that its complexity would eventually be reduced by its evolution. And then a couple weeks ago, I was tasked with standing up a new Ansible AWX server, which now done via a k8s

I had to uninstall Tabnine because its resource usage was unacceptable. Hopefully they've addressed that, because it was using way too much of my CPU at times that it shouldn't have been.

It will be fun when the Internet mobilizes a mass exodus to a new or competing platform to fuck him over. He lives his online life with a foot three inches from his mouth, cocked and loaded, and waiting to scatter his brains to the wind. Th

This is really awesome. I grew up with a lot of interest in phreaking, lived right at the end of Mt. Pony Rd on the opposite end of the road as the federal reserve, and had no clue about any of this.
