I really liked him in WeCrashed. He was the perfect kind of strange for that part.

I’m not so sure access to scarce resources = wealth. Wealth can be an abundance of valuable things that are not scarce.

Ok, sorry I mentioned wrong AI, replace it with whatever your choice of AI is that has web access and is good at summarizing current events and answering questions about them. I come up against this argument a lot, that by stopping reading

Here's what worked for me: 1) Deleted all social media accounts, deleted apps and logged out of anything that has what you might call a newsfeed (including RSS). 1.1) Switched all important notifications to email. 2) Uninstalled the we

This is a good take. The problem is not that vibe coding is bad or worthless, it’s just that vibe coding exposes new groups of people to new kinds of risks.

The reason is to never allow anyone (even the editors) to have actual access to the show's files/images. Remote software can prohibit copy/paste, file transfers, and screenshots. I worked in a post facility with 100s of peopl

Yes, I’m the only one who matters. Everyone else must conform to my preferences and style. Joking aside, I’m simply expressing my preference. Not implying it’s what’s best for everyone.

You’re probably right. Working from home and working in an office both come with benefits and drawbacks. But having done both, I would say that for me personally the drawbacks of working from home are greater than the drawbacks of working i

Am I the only one who hates working from home? Sure, being able to work from home if you need to is nice, but so is being around other people. The most I’ve ever learned, the most fun I’ve ever had, the most rewarding and fulfilling things

It is possible for the best aspects of a people/society to atrophy while they simultaneously expand their wealth/technology/etc. We can make the world an undeniably better place while also loosing vital things. It's not

"A new report from plagiarism detector Copyleaks"... so a plagiarism detection firm says plagiarism is rampant. This is not news, it's a press release reformatted and branded to look like news.

I like it! Kind of an infinite canvas app. I had a board with boxes for upcoming meetings, notes from calls, useful links, screenshots of things I was thinking about, etc. A really good system actually.

Stickies is under appreciated. I saw someone in a coffee shop once outlining an essay or something in stickies. They had each point they wanted to make on a sticky, with some details, and they were moving them around the screen to re-order

The same exact thing happened to me and I came to the same exact realization. I moved all my dot files to an archive and started using built-in software. It's been great.

Yeah but isn't the quote's point (made comedically, with hyperbole) that it can be hard to separate our emotional reactions from things to actually be concerned about? I thought that's the whole idea, to make you laugh and th

I don’t get the negativity in these comments. Sure, this is not a groundbreaking article, just a simple blog post with a simple plea, stated very clearly in the conclusion: > AI or not, images should be given the same attention as text.

I agree that the tide is turning, but I don't think the argument that actual criminal behavior (I don't know if that's what OpenAI did, but that's what NYT alleges) should be glossed over in the name of progress.
