I can't upvote this enough. If the IRS is ascribing value X to stock options I can't liquidate, I should be able to pay my tax in the form of those options at whatever value I am being taxed on them. Of course, the devil's i

Vesting. You can't exercise unvested options - the company needs to have set up an early exercise option as a part of it's stock plan for this to work. But whether they offer an early exercise program is a very good question to a

The way I've found to reframe that conversation: For some reason I chose for that person to cut me off in traffic. What message am I trying to send to myself? Or maybe by being cut off now, I prevented myself from being in a fatal ac

Yeah, I can believe things are different since the 80's. Nerds seem to be much higher on the social totem pole now IMO. Also can I now say that I feel the the old guy going 'WELLLLL, back in MY day..." :-/

I was that nerd, although admittedly I was only in one real fight (in grade school) and I didn't have too many problems beyond that. [edit] I guess I didn't see too much actual violent fighting otherwise beyond (I guess) normal ma

In the USA, if you were a nerd that was not the victim of bullies and physical violence growing up in grade school, you would be in the slim, slim minority. I'd actually be quite surprised if anyone escaped some kind of violent alte

So the logical extension where I can't see the link is that cavemen way way back must have either have been slaves, or had better lives than everyone on today's slavery spectrum. Is that right?

Not sure if trolling, but if supply (housing) increases faster than demand (immigrants) prices go down (assuming you believe in Economics 101). You could argue that it's impossible to build fast enough to surpass immigration rates, b
