There is nothing safe about controlled explosions, ever. Burying waste in a mountain sounds like a much more controlled disposal plan.

How do you live with a centered fixed-width table that is wasting 15% of the browser window with nothing but hectares of white space then? Bumping the line-height to 1.5ish the font size has minimal impact to space efficiency, and add tons

That's not increasing line-height. I don't have a problem with my eyesight, I have a problem with poor typography.

I wish they would update the line-height to something more reasonable. ~1.5x font size would be go a long way in paragraph readability. Other than that, it's fast and stable. About all I require from a forum. Edit: All my lovely respon

The problem is that most people only care about themselves, and are not interested in solving real problems. That's why Facebook/Instagram/any other platform prioritizing self promotion are massive.

Well, if you're going to cry about using something that runs on the entire web, then that's your alternative. Or grab a Garmin, though I'm sure Stallman probably believes there is a mind control listening device in those too.

The killer app for VR is going to be escapism. There is going to be a future where you're going to purchase experiences from companies. There will be an underground, sex will be huge, travel, alter egos, just like in sci-fi movies. Jus

Sure, but common sense comes in to play when the one you bought is valued at $1, and everywhere else is $1000. And if everyone knew and didn't care, then why blow it up as if it was some big secret?

What I don't understand, is how it wasn't immediately apparent this stuff was junk? You couldn't possibly think that it was equal in quality to much more expensive competitors. I guess it's just the case of not being rea

"Investor reports reveal riders only pay 41 percent of the full cost of each ride, with investors footing the remaining 59 percent." I hope this explains it more clearly. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article

Because the cost of a cab ride is not $6 to drive entirely cross town. It just isn't. Uber is popular because it's cheap as shit. If SuperRide came out, and it was half the price of Uber, no one would ever use Uber again.

They are burning through VC money by subsidizing the cost of each ride, thus artificially deflating its actual cost. Once the gravy train runs out, these ride sharing companies will have no choice but to jack up the prices to their actual v
