Just start with the assumption that no one understands how to read a man page and how to translate that into a full command line operation. A simple example goes A LONG WAY.

By virtue of the fact that TLDR and bropages exist? People are creating 3rd party solutions, because no one does anything with man pages.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Kerrisk. Software maintainers just need to simply add examples of using the software they use. They know best how it works, I don't know why this has to be met with so much friction. Like not

It seems like the maintainers of man pages just refuse to bother with something so obvious. It's been decades, and man pages are still archaic and not user friendly.

http://bropages.org/ is usually my goto. I learn by example, so naturally I despise man pages, and this makes it tolerable.

So you're saying that people SHOULD care about backups now? Which is it?

There are cleaner methods, stop taking the easy route and burning everything down.

You asked why people care about backups anymore, and I told you why what you stated is not a solution to it.

Right, so do real backups of your data. iCloud is loss recovery, and multi device convenience.

Because syncing isn't a backup? What happens when you sync corrupted files? Same reason RAID isn't a backup, yet that one continues to crop up.

LastPass' UI is so clunky, confusing and under performant that storing passwords securely is the least path of resistance for end users. I dread using it daily at the office.

Looks like they built it at least 8+ months ago, it was posted HN around that time.

Don't get me started on Outlook search. For a company that runs a global search engine, the most prominent mail client in the world is absolutely shit for searching.

Out of curiosity, how are you preventing spoofed email spam? It looks like you're accepting everything to one generic email address, and posting via the senders address?

It was much deeper than that. While you're partially correct, that people not paying back their loans is what ultimate set off the collapse, the reason for it was the straight greed, and manipulation of the repackaged junk sub-prime mo

Most people suffer from lower back pain, example all of us sitting here days on end at the computer. Obviously for upper back pain, working your upper back is not a great idea. My point here is that most back pain is related to our sedentar

Pushups work much more than just your chest, particularly your core muscles, critical to everything including your back. Try just a static plank for ten minutes, and tell me what you feel.

Pushups. Unless you're completely feeble or injured, do them, even if it's on your knees. Guaranteed to clear up the majority of back pain due to weak muscles. Also Yoga, I picked this up recently for a low impact workout. That sh

Millions/Billions were paid out in bailout money, to the very same people responsible for collapsing the housing market in 2009. Compensation for that level is complete bullshit. https://www.nytimes.com/2009/07

This is what RIT has always been about, where you MUST complete PAID cooperative education for degree credits. Typically after year 2, you're going to school some semesters, and then working the other semesters at a company in your fie
