> They are the first who have a machine learn to solve problems that require memory. Incorrect. It was named a Neural (Turing) machine for a reason. Maybe people should go back and dust off the white papers from the 70s like those who ar

The brain's architecture is laid bare for anyone to see. Making models of features is cheap. Anyone can do it. There are loads of white papers and benchmarks. Some approaches beat others depending on the benchmark. Claiming it 'wo

Overconfident pronouncement by indicating that they are making computational models of natural processes that no one can confidently state are correct or are the most efficient? Making statements that allow people to see behind the curtains

They're taking features that are present in the brain that aren't modeled and are making computational models for them. They're not a gold standard. You can create your own in under an hour. It's not another level. It&#x

Alan Turing's tape machine + neuron model. In the human brain, Neurons store an incredible amount of information. Neuron models in neural networks only did so with weights. There is still a lack of understanding on how the human brain

Deep Mind was funded by Elon Musk as well as others in its earlier stages. Elon Musk is one of the individuals who speaks out as if he is wildly fearful of where Ai is going. Fundamentally, an individual has no control over what an AGI deve

There are several groups that have already done this and there are several tools similar to OpenAI gym. Why is only one company mentioned when it comes to this? You do understand that a large chunk of OpenAI gym are open source software pac

I'm not attempting to be a smart arse. However, I really think you should google it :). It is too common a trend for one to latch on to popular names as if they're the only ones doing anything important in a space. There are many

More should be done to highlight this. The persistent fanboy like culture, among those even in tech, which centers on only a handful of popular corporate names who serve as system integrators after the fact is dishonest and disingenuous in

Not everyone has 'vision' and its hard convincing those who don't have it to see the potential in your idea before its fully formed. In cases of fundamental technology like Ai, there should be a national effort to fund indivi

Yes, do you know of the number of groups who are actively developing AGI? who have made steady progress over the years? I see no big names invested in them. Why would someone try to create your own group having no background in development

Yep. "The best way to predict the future is to create it" Don't stretch your mind to far on this one. If someone or various groups develop AGI and you have no stake in them, you will have no say in how it gets used. For once

You're right on many points. My observation is, when it comes to deeper Ai that trends towards AGI, the private sector seems lost in terms of the big ideas and applications. The VCs are also lost and have no idea on how to appreciate f

You're exactly right. If you look closely, present day A.I is modeled after the cortex. It's akin to cutting out the neo-cortex, wiring in i/o hooks, and reprogramming it to one's needs (weak A.I). The cortical regions a
